With a knack for entrepreneurship and tenacious work ethic, Assaf Cohen has carved a niche as an astute businessman committed to offering exemplary service. He is the Founder of Empire Apparel, a market leader in the off-price retail industry.
Assaf launched Empire Apparel in 2011, and to date, the company has strengthened its relationships with its original agents overseas. He takes pride in having grown and maintained strong partnerships with his agents for over 25 years. He attributes the companies' growth to the support and mutual trust from his suppliers.
Assaf struck a partnership with his brother to sell leftover merchandise door to door, marking the start of his entrepreneurship journey. After several years of nurturing his skills, he blossomed into a refined business executive with a sizable client base. He decided to venture full throttle into the off-price business world at 18, launching his first Company, Tradewinds Clothing, with his brother, Eric Cohen.
Early in his career, Assaf found a niche as a retailer selling quality brand names for under $10.00, ushering in the $10.00 stores concept. Armed with an unyielding spirit and hope, he successfully built a small healthy business with a focus on higher margins.
Assaf discovered a new market to source in-season and top fashion clothing. He would solely travel to source products directly from agents and factories from various vendors in Vietnam, Cambodia, and China.

Empire Apparel was established in 2011 for the sole purpose of offering superior quality branded clothing at great prices. We are home to a wide array of clothing brands with a demonstrated history of high quality at more affordable rates. Empire Apparel enables brands to be sustainable by turning surplus inventory into new opportunities that reach a wider market.
Since inception, our customer base has exponentially grown to over 20,000 retail locations, ranging from small chain stores to the largest retailers in the country. With a presence in the East and West coast and millions of dollars in inventory for our retail partners, we search far and wide to source quality, in-demand clothing for all age groups.
We protect the brands we represent by only selling and distributing to the appropriate channels. This has earned us a reputation as a trustworthy wholesaler of top fashion and reputable brands.
